Solaris Mobile to Showcase at the 2012 GSM Mobile World Congress

Solaris Mobile Ltd., the Dublin based operator of hybrid satellite and terrestrial wireless networks, will showcase at the 2012 GSMA Mobile World Congress in Barcelona from the 27th February – 1st March as part of the Enterprise Ireland stand located in Hall 1, stand no. 1F17.

The Solaris Mobile team will be on hand throughout the four day event to demonstrate how Solaris Mobile’s service offering provides the solution to the increasing demand for mobile media content driven by the smart phone generation, and the business potential this holds for service providers. Combining satellite and terrestrial transmission enables the provision of mobile broadband services allowing access to interactive services such as video-on-demand and rich media content.

Operating across the whole of the EU in frequency bands adjacent to the existing 3G mobile bands, Solaris Mobile’s hybrid satellite and terrestrial network is opening up new opportunities to deliver next generation mobile broadband services, facilitating a combination of new and existing mobile services. Solaris Mobile’s hybrid network design is optimised for today’s mobile applications including streaming video & audio, data downloads and ubiquitous voice services delivered directly to smart phones and vehicular devices.
