Matt Child

Chief Executive Officer

Matt Child joined Solaris Mobile as Chief Commercial Officer in 2008 and appointed Chief Executive Officer in December 2011 having worked on product, service and technology development and oversees business development strategy for the company.

Matt has over 25 years’ experience in the telecommunications industry and has worked with a number of start-up businesses based on leading-edge technology in the field of satellite and terrestrial broadband networks. Prior to Solaris Mobile, Matt held a senior position within Microsoft’s EMEA business development team. In 1997 Matt joined fixed line operator Kingston Communications from Eutelsat’s Commercial Department and managed the world leading IPTV service Kingston Interactive TV (KiT). He was a non-Exec Director on the Board of Kingston satellite services provider, Inmedia.

Matt studied Electronic Engineering at the University of Hull and is a qualified BBC Broadcast Engineer having spent his early career working for the BBC, BT and involved in the start-ups of many satellite TV operations in the 80’s including Sky.
